Service above Self

Chitradurga district is situated in the heart of Karnataka State and is an historical city and the history of the same can be traced back to the days of Ramayana and Mahabharatha. Two National Highways (4 and 13) connect the cityto other parts of the state and the Railways connects to the northern as well as southern districts of the State, thus making it strategically well connected. Chitradurga Home guard unit is one of the oldest in the state and was bifurcated when Davanagere district was formed. Dr. Nagaraj B.K, Mr. Neelakantaiah L.B and Dr. Prasad L.S have lead the Chitradurga Home Guards to greater heights and have been honored with the Presidential medals appropriately.

Now, Dr. Prahlada N.B has been appointed as the District Commandant and he has taken charge on 3rd August 2007. Dr. Prahlada has taken pledge raise the Chitradurga Home Guards true to the words of "Service above Self" or "Niskama Seva".
